Samuel Ka-Sheng Yue, M.D., Biography

Dr. Sam Yue was born in Fujien, China, in a family with six children. His family emigrated to an area near Hong Kong during his childhood.

Dr. Yue's grandfather was a British Royal Surgeon and his physician father helped bring the Hong Kong hospital system to a modern standard of care during his tenure as superintendent of those hospitals. In 1967, Dr. Yue graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Augsburg College in Minneapolis. Following a long family tradition of medical doctors, Sam went to the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Medical Center in the Philippines and studied to be a physician, specializing in pain.

After his graduation, Dr. Yue served an internship at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota and then an anesthesiology residency at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinic. He was appointed medical director of the Pain Clinic at Queen of Peace Hospital in New Prague, Minnesota, and in 1991 became the Clinical Medical Director at HealthEast Pain Care in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Dr. Yue belongs to several professional organizations including: Midwest Pain Society; American Society of Anesthesiologists; American Society of Regional Anesthesia; American Academy of Pain Management; American Medical Society; Minnesota Medical Society; and the International Society for the Study of Pain.

In 2000, Dr. Yue founded SKY BioHealth Solutions, Inc., a company that sells health-related products based upon his inventions and patents. Dr. Yue works and resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota and travels frequently to China. home
